Our friend and collaborator Gabi_90 has once again worked on a completely preconfigured version of the Stock Mod 1.6 of cbepx-me, so that you don’t have to think about too many things, except inserting your Roms, and adding your Wi-Fi keys, etc…

MOD4 it’s Updated!

This is a modification of the Stock Firmware created by Tom Duhamel for the RG35XX Plus and H, (I think it will also work for the 2024 version of the Original RG35XX, but we have not been able to test it.). It is based on the official software version, 2024-04-09 and includes some functions that the original firmware does not include by default, such as:
– FTP (To be able to connect wirelessly to the console to transfer files)
– Automatically Updated Clock (as long as it is activated and connected to the internet)
– Automatic extension of the game partition

Known errors: (Which we hope will be corrected in future updates)
– When the clock updater is activated, shortly after WiFi is activated, this confuses the software into thinking that it has been inactive for a long time. This instantly activates sleep mode. This is a minor annoyance, as you only need to briefly press the power button to turn it on again, however, it can definitely confuse the unexpected user. An obvious solution is to disable sleep mode from settings (set lock screen to Never).

Firmware Update (Edited)

Today a new Firmware update has been released for all current RG35XX models with H700 chip, with some bug fixes, and finally the long-awaited video player, capable of playing files in the following formats: wmv, avi, rmvb, flv, mp4, 3gp, asf, mov, mpg, mkv, etc.

We have not yet been able to test it, nor do we know how they will work, but as soon as we do some tests we will comment on it accordingly 😉
After trying some video files, I couldn’t be more satisfied!! In the old GarlicOs, we could only use .mkv with specifications such as 640×480 files, etc., but in the new video player of this latest firmware, that is no longer necessary!! I have tested episodes in .avi, .mp4, .mkv in various resolutions, the highest in 1080 and there have been no sound glitches or slowdowns or anything strange, all the video files have worked smoothly and without problems. Marvelous!!

If you want to download it, you can go through our Stock Firmware download section.

New RG28XX Site

Given the imminent launch of the new Anbernic console, the little sister of our RG35XX, we have created a portal for them, although since they have the same operating system or firmware, we will give full support here for them as well. However, we have already registered the domain rg28xx.com to redirect future users here. (Among those we will find ourselves)…

RG28XX, KNULLI and More news

In recent days we have learned about the new Anbernic console from the XX family, specifically the RG28XX about which we still do not know much about its characteristics, but as can be seen in its demonstration videos, it has the same chip as its sisters, the H700 and uses the same operating system as them, the so-called StockOs or Stock Firmware, and although the screen appears to be 2.8 inches instead of the 3.5 inches of current consoles, everything indicates that all content and firmware will work. that we have on the page. We are already waiting for ours to arrive… (Video at the end of the entry)

Acmeplus, the developer in charge of the Custom Firmware based on Batocera that has been brought to our consoles, has changed the name of the project, to differentiate it from Batocera directly, as it is a Fork, in which there are and will be some changes that differentiate it, and KNULLI has called it, of which we will continue to pay close attention to its news, and of which it already has its page in development, although still incomplete, but which you can now visit at knulli.org

We have also added 2 themes to download in our Themes for Batocera section that we left out: Alekfull-NX and Animatics-DX

RG28XX in Action:

Themes for Batocera

If your RG35XX does not have WIFI, you will hardly be able to download more themes for it, unless you download them from a page, like this one, and copy them to the card where you have Batocera installed. That is why we have created a new section, Themes for Batocera, in which we have added more than 50 themes that we have already tested and that we believe are “acceptable” to be able to see and use on the console. Many more work, but with graphic errors or with fonts so small that they make them difficult to read, so we have discarded them. Now available! May you enjoy them!

New Emulators Added!

With the recent update of the consoles a few days ago, we have a new option, the App Center, where we have a music player, an e-book reader, a file explorer and an Expert Mode.
Well, the developer of the latest Stock Firmware Mods, cbepx-me, has added 16 new emulators, which we can access from the Expert menu that we mentioned above.
It is necessary that you add the Roms to be able to use them obviously, and above all to be on the latest version of the Stock firmware, 20240401 for the Plus or New 2024 or 20240330 for the H.
The new emulators included are:
– Amiga
– Amstrad cpc
– Intellivision
-Odyssey
– PC98
– Satellaview
– SG1000
– SNESMSU1
– Sufami
– SupergraFX
– TG16
– TG16 CD
– Vectrex
– X68000
– XZ81
-XZ Spectrum
