RG40XX H It’s official!

We knew about its existence through a small leaked video, but we did not have time to publish it, when Anbernic has already officially published the demonstration video on YouTube. From what it seems it is a more ergonomic version of the horizontal version, this time with a 4-inch screen and with the analogues with RGB lights as in the RG-CUBE. Its hardware, from what we have been able to see from the software, is the same as the current XX family consoles, so we would be talking about the famous H700 chip. We do not know even more characteristics, such as its battery or RAM memory, although we think it will be the same as its sisters. They present it to us in 3 colors, and we are waiting to know the release date, price and more information about it. For now we leave you with the video that Anbernic published a few hours ago:

APPs for use on the RG35XX’s

We already commented on a previous occasion that many users and developers with knowledge of Linux were taking advantage of the power of the console and its H700 chip to take advantage of it in a way other than just playing with it, and we showed you how they had executed an environment linux to be able to use it as a computer.

A new option for this is the one created by game-de-it called DesktopOS, which is compatible with all consoles that carry the H700 chip (That is, the entire RG35XX family excluding the Original from 2022). You can try it by downloading it fron his github.

We also have a new application to watch YouTube videos from the console, although this time it is only compatible with consoles that obviously have WiFi. Z3R0C1PH3R is the one who is in charge of its development. We have already tested it and it is improving with each update. You can download it from his github.

Custom Drastic SDL for MuOs

trngaje has ported the Miyoomini version for the RG35XX (Plus, H, SP, 2024) which is already available in Batocera, and which we can now also use in MuOs
This emulator is currently the one that works best on our consoles, being able to run games that in other emulators were jerky or had glitches and errors.
You will only have to have MuOs installed in its latest version, (Beans), download the file found in the port’s Github and follow the instructions offered there, which are just unzip the files in the indicated folder and execute a file .sh
Later in MuOs you will only have to assign that emulator to Nintendo DS and you can use it whenever you are going to play DS.
A marvel, which I recommend you install if you use CFW MuOs and you like to play DS.

Knulli public released, Stock Mod Updated

Finally, acmeplus has published a version for all RG35XX, weeks after doing so for the RG28XX.
This custom firmware, which is a fork of Batocera and was renamed Knulli so as not to confuse users and give it another approach, was already working in an alpha version for subscribers and collaborators of the project, but it has already been officially released to everyone publicly. to prove it. It still needs to improve in many aspects (like all custom firmwares that exist) but little by little the features will improve and make us enjoy our consoles more. We have updated the links so that you can download them and it is worth noting that the following updates will be released first for subscribers and collaborators who contribute their grain of sand to the Knulli project. You can collaborate or subscribe to their Ko-Fi.

In addition, cbepx-me has updated its Stock Mod to version 2.3, which includes corrections to some errors, and some new features such as the Theme Selector. This new function is going to give us work, but it will be worth having the themes organized. We will soon update the topics page with the news… You can download this new update as always in the Firmware section.

Custom Firmware News

After a few days of relaxation, we take the opportunity to list in this news all the recent news regarding custom firmwares for our consoles:

cbepx-me Mod 2.2 (For all consoles that use the H700 chip) has been updated with some new functions such as a quick configurator on the first power on after installation to be able to adjust things to our liking, already compatible with the SP version, and Some small improvements compared to the previous version. (Now available from our Firmware section)

Black Seraph GarlicOs 2.0.2, although still in a very early and alpha phase, has also added support for the SP, and apparently is working on hardware acceleration, and preparing things before its launch. Good news after so long without news about GarlicOs 2

Shauninman MinUi has also been updated, and now adds support for the SP, for the mode when you close the screen… otherwise nothing new. (Now available from our Firmware section)

Furthermore, today we have learned about the existence of another Custom Firmware in development, ROCKNIX, which is nothing other than JELOS with its new name, and very similar to Knulli since it also uses EmulationStation… When we have more information we will tell you about it as always here…

About Portmaster Ports

Unfortunately, we have stopped making public the Portmaster Ports that we had on the website, to avoid foolishness. Yes, as you read it, foolishness…
We don’t quite understand many things, and since we don’t want people to point the finger at us and call us Pirates, when we are not, in fact the games we shared had already been pirated and downloaded freely from the Internet, we are not hackers or crackers. or anything like that. We have only followed the instructions provided by Portmaster: You need these files of the complete game and you copy them to this folder… And that is what we were providing for those people who need help with all this because it is great for them to simply copy some files to the card or reinstall the firmware…

We have read complaints and accusations, (although in no case directed at this page), but from Portmaster they have made a statement as a warning as to wash their hands and that they do not share these practices, that the games must be purchased legally and blablabla .
We find it very shocking that we are talking about Retro Emulation consoles of old systems, which use Roms, and Bios of those systems, which are of very dubious legality, but if you are reading this it means that you have one and you use it with games that came to you already on the console itself or that you have downloaded from the internet. Because although it is always said that “You can only play the Roms that you own the original game” we all know that NO ONE DOES THAT.
And it turns out that using a tool like Portmaster to be able to run PC Ports or other systems, which in most cases are offered as “Ready to play” where there are almost 500 games available, is legal, but sharing the games you have is not. They need “certain files”, and then controversy and bad vibes are generated…
Since we don’t want foolishness as we said at the beginning, we will continue sharing content and news as we have usually done, but we will cancel the Ports section for Portmaster. You can always search for the files as we have done through Archive.org or other pages that are dedicated to this, such as the Roms pages, etc.

We regret having to make this decision, but we believe it is best for the page. Greetings from the RG35XX.COM, PLUS.RG35XX.COM and RG28XX.COM team

Firmware updates for RG28XX, RG35XXSP and more Ports

cbepx-me now has its new modified versions of the stock firmware for the RG28XX and the recently launched RG35XXSP, with some new features that are added to the existing ones.
If you are a lucky owner of the RG35XXSP, you can now try these new functions and the corrected errors. For the rest of the versions, they will be included in the next update as usual. You can download these new firmwares from our Stock Firmwares section.

A couple of new Portmaster Ports have been added to the list and are working correctly, thanks to Gabi_90. We have a few others working, but with problems in the controls, so until they are working 100% we will not publish them, but we are working on it 😉

RG28XX Bootlogos, Portmaster Ports

We finally had the afternoon free today to catch up with little RG28XX and we have finished the Bootlogos section for her. As those of you who have one already know, the screen is rotated and that is why the firmware is slightly different, as well as the themes and bootlogos, which must be designed rotated. We have modified some that indicated RG35XX so that it now says RG28XX. We hope you enjoy them, you can download them from the new Bootlogos 28XX section.

Also, as we have recently been testing the latest version of the MuOs Custom Firmware, and to be honest, what caught our attention the most was Portmaster, with the great help of Gabi_90, we have opened a new section where we will be putting those Portmaster games that do not They are Download and Play, but they require some type of additional file, and we will leave them so that it is only Install, Download, Copy and Play 😉
And you already have a few available in our new Portmaster Ports section. We hope you enjoy them a lot!

We continue working for the RG35XX community, Greetings!
